Refund and Returns Policy

1. Company Information

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the website Middleton Artisan Leather and the purchase of goods via middletonleather.com. By accessing the website or purchasing products, you agree to the terms outlined below.

2. Product & Craftsmanship Disclosure

All products sold by Middleton Artisan Leather are handmade using premium materials and crafted with exceptional care. Because all goods are artisan-made by hand, minor variations in size, shape, color, stitching, and finishing may occur from item to item. These characteristics are not considered defects, but rather hallmarks of traditional craftsmanship.

Leather goods are made from the highest quality hides. Marks, grain patterns, range marks, fat wrinkles, pores, scars, shading, and other variations in the leather hide are completely natural. These features are part of the leather’s authentic character and cannot be changed, replaced, or modified upon request, and do not qualify for warranty claims or returns as defects.

3. 1-Year Limited Warranty

Middleton Artisan Leather offers a limited 1-year warranty on all leather goods. This warranty applies to:

  • Stitching integrity

  • Snaps, hardware, and installed fixtures

  • Magnetic closures, D-rings, Chicago screws, clasps, and fasteners

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Scratches, patina changes, leather softening, fading, stretching

  • Misuse, neglect, or accidental damage

  • Exposure to extreme conditions

  • Water or liquid damage

  • Improper storage

  • Cosmetic leather characteristics listed in Section 2

Warranty becomes void if:

  • The item is washed, submerged, soaked, or machine cleaned

  • The item is altered, painted, stitched over, re-finished, modified, or repaired by anyone other than Middleton Artisan Leather

  • The item is physically re-constructed or structurally changed

  • Hardware or stitching is replaced or tampered with by the buyer

Care instructions: Leather goods should never be laundered, washed, or machine dried. If cleaning is required, products should be gently maintained using leather-safe conditioners and cloths.

4. Warranty Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

This warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of manufacturing defects only at the discretion of Middleton Artisan Leather. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that may result from the use, misuse, or inability to use the product.

Warranty claims may require photo evidence or the return of the item for inspection. Replacement or repairs do not reset or extend the warranty period.

5. Refund, Exchange & Defect Return Policy (30-Days)

If your product arrives defective or you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you may return the item within 30 days of the original purchase date for:

  • A like-item exchange

  • Store credit

  • Or a refund to the original payment method

Conditions for acceptance:

  • The item must be unused, or gently used if part of a defect claim

  • Must include all original parts & hardware

  • Must not be washed or altered from its original state

Failure to return the product within 30 days waives eligibility for refund or exchange.

6. Shipping & Delivery Policy

Order Processing

Because items are handmade, orders require additional production time. Typical processing times range from 5–21 business days, depending on order volume, item complexity, and seasonal demand. Buyers will receive tracking information once the order has shipped.

Shipping Method

Orders are shipped using third-party carriers including (but not limited to) national postal and ground carriers. Risk of loss transfers to the buyer once the carrier has scanned the package into transit.

Incorrect Address

It is the buyer’s responsibility to provide an accurate shipping address at checkout. Middleton Artisan Leather is not responsible for lost packages due to incorrect or incomplete address submission.

7. Return Shipping Costs

  • The buyer covers shipping costs to return or exchange the item

  • Middleton Artisan Leather covers shipping cost of replacement items back to the buyer only if the return was the result of a confirmed manufacturing defect

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable

8. Return & Warranty Restrictions

  • Returns are not accepted due to preference changes connected to natural leather aesthetics described in Section 2

  • Warranty is not valid if item shows structural modification or laundering

  • Customer agrees handmade goods will show unique leather elements inherent to each hide

9. Arkansas-Governed Return & Shipping Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas under Arkansas Code § 4‑86‑101 et seq. and general commerce regulations. Any legal disputes must be filed and resolved within Arkansas state jurisdiction.
